This classic pot roast is one of our family's favorite Sunday dinners. The meat becomes incredibly tender, and the vegetables soak up all the delicious flavors. It's the kind of meal that makes your house smell amazing and brings everyone to the table!

Step-by-Step Instructions

Season the Meat

Start by generously seasoning your roast with your favorite spices and seasonings.

Brown the roast on all sides in your Dutch oven to seal in the juices and create a beautiful crust.

Start with Carrots and Onions

Add the carrots and onions to the pot first, letting them start to soften and release their flavors.

Add the Potatoes

Layer in the potatoes to create a bed for the roast.

Place the Meat on Top

Nestle the browned roast on top of the vegetables. This allows the meat juices to flavor everything as it cooks.
